Meet Lori from Supply Chain

As a supply chain manager, Lori typically has back-to-back meetings and urgent hallway conversations all day long, so catching up with her is no easy task. However, we were able to track her down at the Habitat for Humanity build happening in Renewal by Andersen’s hometown of Cottage Grove, MN. She participated in last year’s Habitat build and really enjoyed it, despite the oppressive heat. Lori knows that everyone needs a little help sometimes and this is her way of giving back to the community she cares about.

On a more typical day at work, Lori manages the procurement team who orders every part and piece that goes into making the windows in our plant. She also manages the “supermarket” which picks and delivers all of these pieces to the individual window production lines. A perfect day in her world would be where every piece is on time, in the right quantities, and shipped out the door with no issues.

She enjoys her work because every day is different and she gets to work closely with every department in the building. Her world is all about process improvement because you can’t make a window with “most” of the pieces – you need all of them, every time. So you can see why telepathy would be the superpower she’d choose if she could – she’d always know what issues might be coming up because she’d know what people are worried about before they bring the issue to her attention.

Lori usually starts every day early with a long walk with her dog, mentally organizing her work day, but still having some quiet time before all of the action starts at work. We love having Lori on our Renewal by Andersen team!
